Who we are

Quill ("we", "us") is operated by Ashish Jadhav and published at https://quillpdf.site. For any question about this policy, or to ask us to delete data associated with you, write to ashishjadhav9900@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Your documents are never uploaded

Every PDF operation Quill offers — editing, merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, redacting, sanitising, watermarking and the rest — runs inside your own browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The file you open is read into your device's memory and never transmitted to our servers.

This is a structural property of how the site is built, not a promise about how we behave once we have your file. We do not operate a document upload endpoint, a conversion queue, or document storage of any kind. When you close the tab, the file is gone from memory. We cannot read, retain, recover or hand over a document you processed with Quill, because it was never sent to us.

The one consequence worth knowing: because processing is local, large or complex files are limited by your device's memory rather than by a server, and nothing is recoverable after the tab closes.

What we do collect

We run our own first-party analytics so we can tell which tools people actually use and which pages are broken. For each page view and interaction we record:

• The page path you visited, and the tool involved if any.
• The type of interaction (a page view, a click, a tool run, a download) and the visible label or link target of the element you interacted with.
• How you arrived: the referring site's hostname and path, and any utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term or utm_content parameters in the link you followed.
• A coarse device profile derived from your browser's user-agent string: device class (desktop, mobile or tablet), browser family, operating system family, and your browser window's width.
• An approximate location — country, and where our hosting provider supplies it, region and city. This is derived from network-level headers, not from GPS or any device location API.
• A random session identifier, described below.

What we deliberately do not collect

• The contents, filenames, page counts or any other property of the documents you open.
• Your name, email address or any other account detail — Quill has no sign-up and no user accounts.
• Your IP address in raw or stored form. Your IP is used transiently, in memory, only to derive the daily visitor hash described below, and is then discarded. It is never written to our database.
• Precise geographic location from GPS, Wi-Fi or cell-tower data. We do not request the browser location permission.
• Any special-category information: health, financial status, race or ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, trade union membership, criminal history, or sexual orientation.

Cookies, session storage and identifiers

Quill's own analytics set no cookies. We use your browser's sessionStorage for two values — quill.analytics.session, a random identifier that groups your page views into one visit, and quill.analytics.source, which remembers how you arrived so the attribution is not lost as you navigate. Both are cleared by your browser when you close the tab, and neither is readable by any other site.

Separately, our server computes a daily visitor hash so we can count returning visitors without identifying them. It is a salted SHA-256 of your IP address, your user-agent string and the current date, truncated. Because the date is part of the input, the value changes every 24 hours and cannot be linked across days; because it is a salted one-way hash, it cannot be reversed to recover your IP address.

Advertising

Quill is free and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads on some pages.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. These third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and IP addresses, to collect information as a result of ad serving on this website. We do not control those cookies and we do not receive the data they collect.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads. To opt out of personalised advertising from other participating vendors, visit aboutads.info/choices. You can also read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We never pass any information to Google that could identify you personally, and we do not use the analytics data described above to build advertising audiences or targeting segments. We do not knowingly direct advertising at anyone under 13, and Quill is not directed at children.

Where the data goes

Analytics events are stored in a PostgreSQL database we control, hosted in the Asia South (Mumbai) region. The site itself runs on Google Cloud Run. Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS. We do not sell analytics data, share it with data brokers, or use it for any purpose other than understanding and improving the site.

We keep raw analytics events for 14 months and aggregate counts indefinitely. Aggregate counts contain no session identifiers or visitor hashes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, and to object to that processing or lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

We should be honest about the practical limit here: because we hold no account and no stored IP address, we usually have no way to connect an analytics record to a specific person, and so no way to find "your" data on request. If you contact us at ashishjadhav9900@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the records, we will act on the request. If you simply want to stop being counted, blocking our /api/track endpoint or browsing with JavaScript disabled works immediately and needs no request to us.

Children

Quill is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not use interest-based advertising to target users we know to be under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy materially — in particular if we ever add server-side document processing, accounts, or a new advertising partner — we will update the date at the top of this page and describe what changed.
